1840 Room

The 1840 Room is accessible by elevator and the front staircase. It has a lovely granite coal grate fireplace, a petite kitchen, a full-size bed, and ensuite bath. The full size (standard double) bed is an antique mahogany half-tester bed, bench-made before the War Between the States for the Mayor of Nachez, Mississippi. It is unusual to find a complete bedroom set. This complete set includes the original bed and half tester, the dresser with candle stands, the armoire, and the wash stand with candle stands and the towel rack. The ensuite petite kitchen contains a sink and marble counter top, an under counter ice machine, two refrigerated drawers, a small dishwasher and a microwave. It is perfect for someone on a special diet and needs a small kitchen facility, someone who needs to refrigerate medication or someone who enjoys heating leftovers from one of Laurel's great restaurants. Our staff can stock the petite kitchen with your requested items before arrival. The ensuite bathroom provides standard home amenities: tub/shower, sink, marble counter, commode. The room comes equipped with a safe for storing your valuables. For your safety, the room has a smoke alarm.
