The stately original master bedroom is named for the visionary builder and first resident, John Lindsey, who occupied the house for its first fifty years. Mr. Lindsey was a successful inventor and business man during Laurel's early boom town days of timber harvesting. He invented (and patented in 1899) the Lindsey Eight Wheel wagon which revolutionized the timber harvesting industry and allowed accessibility to lands all over the world. The large custom draperies and shades, with blackout lining, on the windows of the Lindsey Suite view the Lauren Rogers Museum of Art across 7th street beyond the hidden walled courtyard and copper fountain. The Lindsey Suite has a king size bed, appropriate comfortable antique furniture, a gorgeous Italian chandelier and en-suite bathroom with a jacuzzi tub/shower, a personal safe, a washer and dryer,a refrigerator and plenty of room for your things with the built-in shelves and large closet. The Lindsey Suite is accessible by elevator and the grand staircase from the the marble foyer. It has a smoke alarm in the bedroom.
